Toshiba Folio 100 firmware update released

The Toshiba Folio 100 that was under fire for poor performance recently received an official firmware update to fix its problems. The new update (version 2.2.5.0053) improves overall tablet responsiveness and performance issues which should stop people from complaining. In addition to the fixes, the update also brings the multi-touch pinch-to-zoom feature to the tablet. Now users can easily zoom in and out of pages and images with a simple gesture. The only thing missing from the update is the Flash Player 10.1 which needs to be downloaded separately. But take heed – there have been reports of the tablet going into “deep sleep” mode without permission, requiring a reboot to make it work again. A small trade-off for the amount of benefits brought with the firmware update? Hopefully Toshiba addresses this issue with its next update.
