Samsung’s Wave II ships with T9 Trace

Nuance Communications has just announced that their T9 Trace input is now shipping with the Samsung Wave II. T9 Trace is an alternative keyboard for smartphones that is similar to Swype. Users type by sliding their fingers in one continuous motion over the characters they wish to use for faster and easier messaging. Since T9 Trace is platform agnostic- meaning it doesn’t run on one particular operating system, it can be easily implemented in many different phones. The Samsung Wave II, running on bada, is one of the first phones in the world to ship with the keyboard (it’s been rebranded as QuickType). Hopefully Samsung will release the keyboard for their other bada phones as well. With Samsung already using Swype with their Galaxy S phones, we wonder which keyboard they will decide to use in their future phones. How many of you have tried the T9 Trace touch input, and how does it compare against Swype?
