In a recent report in the Wall Street Journal, it has been reported that Microsoft will be giving the public a taste of a new version of Windows next year at the Consumer Electronics Show. According to the report, Microsoft has been busy developing an operating system based on ARM processors (they signed a deal with ARM Holdings this summer) and will be using it in their upcoming tablets. Although they will be revealing it in January 2011, don’t expect to be available for about the next 2 years. Even though Microsoft helped to pioneer the tablet concept in the 1990s, they have yet to make an impact or succeed as well as the iPad. Let’s see what they have to show us next month.
