Huawei, one of the world’s largest telecommunication manufacturers from China, has officially announced two new Android phones- the Ideos X5 and Ideos X6 (taking a cue from Sony Ericsson’s naming of their Xperia devices?). Judging from the initial specs and images, the phones look like they will be the high-end Android phones from Huawei. The Ideos X6 comes with a 4.1″ capacitive LCD touchscreen, a 1GHz processor, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G with HSPA (up to 14.4Mbps), HDMI output, a 5 megapixel camera capable of recording HD videos and Dolby Surround sound. The X5 is pretty much the same phone with a smaller 3.8″ display, and none of the extra HD recording/HDMI output features of the X6. Both of them will run on Android 2.2, with hints of an upgrade to 2.3 not long after the phones are released. No prices or release date have been announced for the phones yet, hopefully they won’t be outdated by the time they hit the shelves. What do you think of the new Huawei phones? Hit the break for a picture of the X5.
