Peter Chou, CEO of HTC, recently spoke with GSMA – the people behind the Mobile World Congress about HTC’s plans for the following year. He confirmed that his company will be working on an LTE device that will hit our streets next year. Seeing how LTE is growing in the country, the HTC LTE phones will be arriving on this side of the world first, at least until the rest of the world starts deploying LTE networks as well.

“We are working on an LTE device for next year, 2011. We think that the U.S. mobile operator will be taking some lead and pushing 4G in the U.S. market. But, however, we are seeing the rest of the world will be deploying LTE networks in 2011. Could be the second half of 2011.”

He also mentioned that HTC phones will come NFC-enabled as well. After being quiet for awhile, it’s good to know that HTC aren’t gone and already have a game plan set for next year. Samsung Craft, look out, competition is on the way!
