Gingerbread will come to Optimus One phones after all

After the whole debacle over misinformation about Gingerbread (Android 2.3)’s system requirements, LG has finally issued an apology about their previous statements on Facebook. Here’s what they said:

LG will upgrade all Optimus One smartphones currently using the Froyo OS to the next version of the Android OS, Gingerbread. Details of the upgrade schedule will be announced locally in due course. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and misunderstanding that was caused regarding this issue.

After trying to blame it on the lack of documentation concerning Gingerbread, LG finally said they made a mistake and that Gingerbread will be on their Optimus One smartphones. Now the question left is when will they release the update? As we know manufacturers take quite awhile to update an operating system, especially when it’s skinned. Any predictions?
