If BlackBerry has one thing going for it, besides BBM, it’s the level of security the OS has. In a press release today, RIM has confirmed that BlackBerry OS 6 is now FIPS 140-2 certified. This is the highest possible rank you can get in terms of security. This means that government agencies and security-conscious organizations in the US can rely on the OS to keep their data safe and secure. Even the President can count on the operating system to keep the contents of his BlackBerry phone private. With the operating system certified by the government, hopefully carriers can now get around to releasing it for the older BlackBerry devices. How many of you are waiting for BlackBerry OS 6 to arrive on your phone?
