Ask.com revamps their strategy to a mobile approach

After a somewhat turbulent year, the once highly popular question answering service, Ask.com has changed its focus from being a major search engine to being a Q&A service. According to the results of a survey they completed recently, it turns out that most people are likely to ask questions when they’re not in front of a computer, about a third of them go online with their phones more than their computers, and a large portion of them need information while they are driving- indicating that they want hands-free services. Ask.com has recently released the findings of the survey to help push their app which is currently available from the iTunes App Store. If you haven’t used Ask for the iPhone before, it’s basically an app which allows you to ask questions to get answers from either random people online or your friends. The answers can be typed in or dictated by the user for situations when they have their hands busy i.e. while driving or carrying items. It’s a pretty handy app which is a tad more useful than the desktop version, and not to mention it’s free. Head over to the iTunes App Store to download it now.
