Is Apple hiring engineers with CDMA knowledge to work on the new iPhone?

According to a report from the Fortune magazine, Apple has recently posted multiple job listings for engineers who could possibly be working on the rumored Verizon/CDMA iPhone. Apple is looking for full-time Cellular Systems Performance Engineers who will address protocol issues and field test hardware. The requirements state that the candidates should be familiar with GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA, HSUPA and CDMA technologies. With the current iPhone not usable on a CDMA network, does this mean that the future one will support it? And if it does, it will probably be headed to Verizon’s network, seeing how rumors have been pinning an iPhone launch on their CDMA network early next year. I guess we’ll just have to wait for an official announcement.
