If you’ve been frequently using your Sprint Voicemail app, then you would’ve noticed this update, if not you can check for it yourself (Menu -> Settings -> Check for update). Once you receive the notification for the update, it won’t go away until you install it. This update brings a new feature to the app- Voicemail-to-Text. Normally you need to pay $1.99 a month to use this service, but the update gives you a free one-month trial. And the best part about the it is that you won’t be automatically subscribed after the trial period is over, so you don’t have to worry about cancelling the service after one month. Voicemail-to-Text puts the transcribed text in the same screen that you use to listen to your voicemails so it doesn’t take any extra effort to access the text. All you have to do is hit transcribe and it will automatically convert the voicemail message into text. A pretty handy service if you’re dealing with a lot of voicemails everyday and you don’t have the time to listen to each one- just read them. According to Sprint, the update will eventually roll out to all their devices that have voice to text capabilities. How useful is Voicemail-to-Text to you?
