You can use your smartphone to do anything nowadays. If you don’t think so, just think of all the things that are possible with a handheld phone now- you can go on the internet, you can control your car, you can use it as a map, you can control robots, and now you can track livestock. WaveMaker Software and Cumberland Genetic announced that they have been working on an app for the purpose of tracking livestock. The iPhone/Android app, currently at use in Cumberland Genetic, will allow companies to improve sales order entry, inventory management and reporting- to replace a legacy system which combines a Microsoft Access reporting system with paper-based orders. By going completely digital, it also supports real-time inventory control and order management so sales people travelling to remote farms have instant access to inventory and sales order information. With data store in the cloud, talk about the convenience of information that is easily accessed with the press of a button.
