Samsung Galaxy S is the world’s first Wi-Fi Direct certified phone

Wi-Fi Direct is a set of protocols that allow devices to directly communicate with each other without connecting to a WiFi network. This means that phones with Wi-Fi Direct can easily connect to other Wi-Fi devices to transfer files, play games, or stream content. Samsung’s flagship Android phone, the Galaxy S (i9000) is the world’s first phone to be awarded the Wi-Fi Direct certification. Another one to be added to its growing list of certified features, along with DivX. With so many certificates under its belt, I’m beginning to think that when Samsung designed this phone, they decided to make it have everything that other phones didn’t. They’re gonna have a hard time coming up with a successor to the Galaxy S if there aren’t anymore new technologies to include in the next version.
