RIM pits their BlackBerry PlayBook against the iPad

RIM has just released a video pitting their upcoming tablet, the BlackBerry PlayBook, against Apple’s tablet, the iPad. The test compares the surfing and website rendering speed and capabilities of both devices. In terms of speed, you can really tell the difference between both tablets- the PlayBook is definitely miles ahead (and with a 1GHz dual core processor that runs the device it’s no surprise) of the iPad, and it can render richer content containing Flash elements with ease. The device also blows the iPad away when it comes to rendering java script, as shown by the last test in the video. Though the PlayBook isn’t finished yet, what we can see so far shows us its immense potential. With the PlayBook being released next year, let’s see how well it fares against the upcoming dual-core Android tablets. Watch the test video after the break:
