According to a recent survey of over 2,600 mobile phone users around the world, only 25% of smartphone owners are unwilling to change to another operating system with their next phone. Though, individually Apple’s iOS had the highest amount of loyal customers- 59% of them would stick with iOS, whereas Microsoft had 21%, Blackberry had 35%, Android had 28% and Nokia/Symbian had 24%. Customer satisfaction breeds loyalty to a brand and iPhone users seem to be very satisfied. Though it’s also common for people who’ve already invested a lot in an OS (mostly through purchasing a lot of apps) and who are just uncomfortable with change to stay with a platform- even though they are unhappy with it. What do you think makes a user loyal to a brand? Will you be changing to a different operating system with your next phone?
