Official Google Voice app now available for the iPhone

After months since its inception, the official Google Voice app is now available on the iPhone. With Google Voice, you can now make cheap international calls, text for free to US numbers, display your Google Voice number as caller ID when making calls and transcribe your voicemails. The app also has support for push notifications to let you know when you receive a new voicemail or text message, and it places your calls via Direct Access Numbers, making them connect as quickly as regular phone calls. Google Voice is available for download from the iTunes App Store today and it won’t cost a thing. All you need is a Google Voice account, and an iPhone with iOS 3.1 or later. At the moment it is only restricted to the U.S. but we’re pretty sure it will expand soon. How many of you have been waiting for this day?
