Despite recently launching Symbian^3 handsets, and MeeGo for the N900, Nokia is not giving up on supporting older operating systems like Symbian S40. As evident by a new Nokia phone leak- the X2-01 is another Symbian S40 device by the Finnish handset manufacturer. Targeted at the budget conscious or those who don’t want to spend too much on a phone, the X2-01 is a phone that gives you what you pay for. With no 3G and WiFi support, expect this phone to serve you data at only GPRS and EDGE speeds. The phone doesn’t have GPS either, so don’t expect it to lead you when you get lost. What you do get is a QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, an FM radio, microSD support, and a 3 megapixel camera. No prices or official dates have been announced, but don’t expect it to break the bank. Do phones like these have a place in the market anymore? Or will they be eaten up alive by the competition (budget smartphones)? Leave us your thoughts in the comments.
