Lab Eleven has just released an app targeted at children and teens, to help them make the right choices when it comes to food. Called LiVe, this app is a free, fun to use and part of the LiVe campaign which reaches out to parents and children about the importance of living healthily to prevent obesity. The app allows users to set fitness and healthy eating goals, track the progress of users, provides fun suggestions based on the LiVe’s Eight Healthy Habits (always eat breakfast, eat more fruit and vegetables, limit sweetened drinks, limit screen time, increase physical activity, eat meals together as a family, be positive about food, don’t criticize about weight), as well as offer links to LiVe public service commercials and posters and allows you to invite your friends to be part of LiVe. So if you feel that you or somebody you know is on the pathway to obesity, you could give this app a shot. It’s free after all, what do you have to lose? LiVe is available for download from the iTunes App Store for your iPhone or iPod touch.
