Lenovo won’t be releasing a tablet until next year

The CEO of Lenovo, Yang Yuanqing has just confirmed that the Chinese-based computer manufacturer won’t be releasing a tablet until next year. Lenovo was supposed to release a tablet called the LePad at the end of 2010, but was delayed because they were waiting for a tablet-friendly version of Android. With Android 2.2 not optimized for tablets, they did not want to take any chances putting out an inferior device on the market. Well, with Android 2.3 rumored to be delayed even longer in order to be optimized for dual-core processors, we wonder if Lenovo are planning to use dual-core processors in their tablets as well. Either way, waiting seems like a good move, especially with the large number of Android 2.1/2.2 tablets being released- patience to wait until Android 2.3 just so they release a better tablet might pay off after all.
