i3DG brings 3D content to the iPhone

If the clumsy looking glasses of Hasbro’s My3D turn you off from having 3D on your iPhone, you might want to check out the i3DG. A Japanese designer has come up with an iPhone accessory that instantly brings 3D viewing to the Apple device. Called the i3DG, it is a small box-shaped peripheral that can be easily plugged into your iPhone or iPod Touch. The device uses mirrors placed at specific angles to the screen to create the illusion of 3D content. The device can support a wide range of different apps from 3D videos and animations to accelerometer-based games. No touching the touchscreen with this device on, but with such entertaining visuals, why would you need to? Check out a video of the i3DG in action after the break:
