In a press release today, SoundHound announced a global partnership with HTC. According to the release, HTC has agreed to embed their SoundHound music discovery service in their Android devices. SoundHound, a revolutionary sound search company, allows users of its app to discover new music by pointing your phone for it to analyze a song you’re listening to or singing along with or humming. With the app you can discover what the song is, the artist of the song, its lyrics, the album its from and more. It also provides links for you to share about the song and even purchase it online. In the agreement, the first series of phones to be enabled with SoundHound are the HTC Deisre HD and HTC Desire Z. The deal will start off with phones in Europe and then eventually spread to the rest of the world. No word to whether previous HTC phones will be getting SoundHound, but the app is available for $5 from the Android Market for those who are interested in checking it out. What do you guys think of this deal?
