HTC has just confirmed through a Facebook message that the Froyo update for the HTC Legend will be arriving very soon. The Android 2.2 update which is long overdue for the HTC Legend, brings the phone up from 2.1. Looks like the Legend will soon be able to enjoy Flash support, tethering and WiFi hotspot functionality, support for installing applications to the external memory and more. HTC mentioned that the update will be released for unbranded versions of the phone first (those without carrier branding)- branded HTC Legends will have to wait for their carriers to approve the update for their phone.
