FroYo Google Maps on left, Gingerbread on right

Someone how had a lot of time on their hands and managed to dig through the APK of Google Maps and discover some options that signal Gingerbread’s existence. Within Google Map’s APK, there is an option to switch the API level from 8 (FroYo) to 9 (Gingerbread), and doing so modifies the look of the Google Maps accordingly. In Google Maps for Gingerbread, its looks have been modified to suit Gingerbread’s appearance. The title bar for its menu which was previously a see-through gray is now a solid black bar, which is rumored to match the new all black notification bar of Gingerbread. Other refinements include the apps buttons- instead of being rounded, they are sharper now and look cleaner overall. Besides those minor changes in appearance, nothing more can be seen so far. We’ll just have to wait for more leaks or the official release from Google. Have you found any other apps that can be switched to API level 9?
