Facebook, the world’s most popular social-network has just released a new version of their mobile app for the BlackBerry. Facebook 1.9 for RIM’s mobile phones adds a number of new features not present in the previous version. You can now use Facebook Places- Facebook’s own version of Foursquare. This social check-in service that is integrated with BB Maps allows you to tag your Facebook friends when you check in, add new places that don’t exist yet. You can also like and comment on your friends’ check-ins through the app. Other features of 1.9 include- an updated UI, new search functions, the ability to add friends and pages within the app, and if you’re on OS 6, unified search can also pull results from Facebook.
