BlackBerry to remain on top for the next 5 years?

Despite the previous reports from other analysts about Android dominating the mobile industry in the next few years, the folks over at ABI Research beg to differ. They have just released a new report saying that BlackBerry will remain on top of the smartphone charts for the next 5 years until 2015 where Android will catch up and match their market share. “The study, by ABI Research, found that RIM will lose market share by 2015. The research firm expects RIM’s Blackberry to maintain 26% of the mobile operating system world market by 2015, matched by Google’s Android OS with 26%. Nokia’s Symbian OS will take 16%, Microsoft Windows OS 11% and Apple iOS 14%.” It seems very optimistic for the BlackBerry camp considering how they haven’t been making many waves lately in the mobile scene. Maybe RIM will buck up and amaze us with some new devices in the coming years. What do you think of ABI Research’s predictions?
