Great news for those of you looking to get your hands on RIM’s upcoming tablet device. CEO of RIM, Jim Balsillie, has mentioned that BlackBerry PlayBook will be competitively priced and would cost under $500. Since RIM doesn’t have the huge number of apps like Apple’s iOS or the popularity of Android- selling the device for a lower price might be their strategy for the tablet war. The PlayBook will be arriving in the first quarter of 2011- that should be around the same time as the launch of the iPad as well. With Steve Jobs proclaiming that PlayBooks are “dead on arrival”, let’s see what RIM has up their sleeves in order to make users choose them over Apple. How do you think the PlayBook will fare against the other tablets in the market?
