Apple patents the iWallet

Apple has filed for another payment, this time it’s an app for that turns the iPhone into a wallet for mobile payment. Apple has been doing a lot of near field communication research (as well as patenting) as they plan to make it one of the main features of the next iPhone. With NFC, phones can replace your electronic currency, credit card, identity card, electronic coupons, and transportation tickets, as well as being a phone at the same time. And with the recently announced mobile payment system that is backed by two of Apple’s partners- AT&T and Verizon, patenting the iWallet makes a lot of sense right now. What other uses for an NFC iPhone can you think of?
