Apple’s next iPad may have a carbon fiber back

According to an Apple patent that was recently uncovered, the next iPad may have a back constructed out of carbon fiber. The patent which was filed called “Reinforced Device Housing” patents the use of a carbon fiber with a frame (to reinforce it) for the back of the iPad. With the current iPad being a little heavy for one-handed use, the switch to a lighter material for the back would shave off some weight and be a welcome change by many people. Of course like most patents that are filed, not all end up being used, and this is no exception. But we can always dream right?
