Android is the best development according to Sony Ericsson

In a recent press release, Sony Ericsson talked about why everybody is choosing Android as the platform to work with for their phones. Reasons that the mobile phone giant cited for favoring Android: the open-source operating system is favored by many developers, and is expanding into many countries at a rapid rate. Because of its open-source nature, the Software Development Kit for Android is free and unlike other app stores, the Android Market doesn’t need to deal with the approval of apps. The free SDK and easy method of app distribution makes Android an obvious choice for amateur developers who want to give a shot at app development. The platform is also developer friendly and people who already know Java should have no problems picking it up. It’s nice to see Sony Ericsson praising and supporting Google’s operating system, but people familiar with their phones are wondering: if it’s so easy to develop Android, then why did it take so long for them to push out the X10 Android 2.1 update? This either means incompetency on Sony Ericsson’s side of things, or their phones are really hard to update. Hopefully their upcoming phones won’t be suffering from delayed updates anymore. How many of you are still waiting for your Xperia phone update?
