While the Garmin-Asus partnership is no more, it’s good to know that their phones are still being supported. The Android 2.1 update for the Garminfone has just been released on the T-Mobile forums. We know the phone didn’t too well in terms of sales, but it’s good to know that the few people who did buy the phone weren’t forgotten. This update brings the phone up from Android 1.6 to a more recent (albeit still outdated) Android 2.1. This major update optimizes hardware speed, adds a new browser UI with HTML 5 support, new contact lists, Microsoft Exchange support, an improved virtual keyboard and much more. Head over to the T-Mobile forums to download the update for your phone, and let us know how it works out for you.
