Advent Vega Android tablet runs Tegra 2

Remember the Toshiba Android tablet that was dropped from retailers in UK because of its high return rate? One of the retailers, Dixons, has introduced a new tablet in its place instead. Looking eerily like the Toshiba Folio 100, the Advent Vega is a pretty impressive Android tablet with a low price tag that is bound to make some jaws drop. This tablet runs on a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor with 512MB of RAM, a 10.1″ touchscreen, and comes with a 4GB external memory card for you to kick things off with. It also features Android 2.2, a USB port, WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI, and a 1.3 megapixel camera, a battery capable of running up to 6.5 hours and HDMI output. The Advent Vega will retail for the very low price of $336 (£249)- inclusive of shipping, which is much cheaper than the iPad and Galaxy Tab, considering it doesn’t require a contract to purchase. It looks like the folks in UK are spoilt for choices when it comes to Android tablets. It is unsure if we’ll see the Advent Vega Stateside, but for now we can only hope.
