OpenMoko Freerunner Discontinued

Published

on

It’s a bad blow to fans of the OpenMoko FreeRunner, as its CEO, Sean Moss-Pultz has confirmed that the company has discontinued development of its FreeRunner open-source Linux cell phone. Only about 10,000 units of the device were sold, and in order to remain solvent, the company has already taken measures and reduced its staff by 50 percent. The company will be re-focusing its efforts on a new product, though it’s supposedly not a phone, bummer.
