Smallest 5 Megapixel Auto Focus Camera Module

Advasense and Creative Sensor might not have a phone on display at MWC 2009, but that doesn’t mean that they have nothing to show. They’re planning to showcase the world’s smallest 5-megapixel auto focus camera module there. The ASIO is a 5 megapixel, quarter-inch optical format, 1.4u FCP CMOS Image Sensor, which is incorporated into CSI’s Compact Camera Module (which measures just 8.3- x 8.3-millimeters) in order to fit right into your next handset. With smaller sensors, manufacturers will likely be able to cram higher resolution camera modules into slimmer cell phones, though there isn’t any mention of how this will impact the final price of the phone just yet.
