Dial4Light When You Need It

Electricity bill going through the roof? Well, a lot of people and municipals have that problem, so a couple of towns in Germany have come up with a rather interesting solution. They have modified their lightning system to include a new system called Dial4Light. It does as its namesake says, and allows users to selectively turn on the lights street by street for 15-minute intervals, after which the lights will go off. Apparently towns implementing the system have seen savings of up to 25%. You certainly wouldn’t want to drop your phone while you’re on a walk in the middle of the night, and this is just added incentive for you to keep your phone close to you at all times.
