MagnaChip EA8850

MagnaChip certainly have been hard at work, as they’ve come up with the EA8850 AMOLED driver chip which can support high-end WVGA resolutions, not to mention nHD resolutions that are currently being used on Nokia’s 5800 XpressMusic and N97 phones. The chip also supports Qualcomm’s Mobile Display Digital Interface (MDDI) 1.2 technology, 16 million colors, automatic brightness control and smart mobile current control. There weren’t any exact dates given as to when the chip will be available, but hopefully the major handset manufacturers will be able to integrate this into their newer phones and churn out something cool.
