Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Manufacturing Delay

You might not have noticed it, seeing that Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1 isn’t released locally just yet, but the phone is already selling in many other countries. While people in other countries might be able to buy the Xperia X1, all isn’t peachy keen, as news is going around that there are manufacturing delays, affecting countries like Sweden, Germany and the UK. Sony Ericsson hasn’t really gone into too much detail regarding the delay, aside from confirming that the lack of “certain materials” is the cause of the shortages. The good news is that Sony Ericsson has said that more phones should be shipping into Sweden over the next few days, with the UK and Germany to be getting extra shipments over the next few weeks. The shortage doesn’t look to be too serious, as Sony Ericsson still maintains that the planned launches in countries like Switzerland, France and Singapore won’t be affected by the delays, and the phone is still on track to be released in the US sometime this month.
