More Than 1.5m G1 Phones Pre-sold

With all the hype surrounding T-Mobile’s upcoming G1, it’s not surprising to hear that the phone has pre-sold about 1.5 million units already, and that figure doesn’t even include any retail sales. If people were wondering whether the G1 would be able to challenge Apple’s iPhone, it sure looks like it’s capable of doing so. Google and T-Mobile will have to be careful here, as the phone will need to be launched smoothly, because if it isn’t, they will probably run the risk of the hype dying down too fast. Hype or no hype, we want one.
