You might have noticed that the blue dot showing where you at in Google Maps’ My Location is a little smaller than usual (if you’re using it within the city). This will be due to Google updating their Google Maps with improved algorithms that are intelligent enough take note of the cell towers in the city that provide smaller coverage. As there are obviously more towers in the city, you’ll be able to get more accurate information with regards to your location. Of course, this also means that you’ll see a larger dot when you’re in a rural area as there will be less cell towers.
