Google releases native search app for S60

With last week’s announcement that Google would be added to Nokia’s Mobile Search service, it’s no surprise that Google is attempting to score some brownie points with Symbian users. This point is driven even further with the release today of Google’s native client for the S60 OS.

The application adds a Google Search shortcut to the S60 idle screen (only for devices with either a ‘Ctrl’ or ‘pencil/edit’ key), and provides even faster access than the addition to Nokia’s mobile search. Typing a search query into the new native client will automatically load the search in the browser with one click access. You can download the new client at Google Mobile.
