Touchscreen deal suggests 3G iPhone release in mid-June 2008

It has been revealed that Taiwan-based company Innolux has struck a deal with Apple to ship the Cupertino boys touchscreens in the second quarter of 2008. If these screens are indeed for the 3G iPhone, this would set a scheduled release for the device by a mid-June 2008 launch.

While Apple claims that a 3G-enabled iPhone is in the works for 2008, no specifications were made on when in the upcoming new year we could be expecting the updated device. Some speculate an official date to be announced at the MacWorld expo, the same place that the iPhone was announced earlier this year.
