Telus has just released the HTC Touch and HTC S640 in Canada, ahead of any official US launch which makes it a first. The HTC Touch hails from Europe and has been adapted to CDMA networks, and in Canada it will run at 3G speeds with EVDO, with performance figures being given a boost with the soon-to-come EVDO Revision A software upgrade. A 3-year plan along with the phone will cost you $150 Canadian, while those who want to pick it up as it is will have to fork out half a grand (in Canadian $). As for the HTC S640, this smartphone comes with a QWERTY keypad and boasts EVDO Rev. A support, a 2 megapixel camera, and WiFi connectivity. It costs the same as the Touch for a 3-year contract, but the standalone price is cheaper by $50 Canadian.
