Vodafone to tap cheap phone market

As you know, the money isn’t where the rich people are – it is by tapping emerging markets as well as the middle class where most companies make their money from. A classic modern day example would be the current sales numbers for the much cheaper Nintendo Wii compared to Sony’s overpriced (from the consumers’ point of view) PS3. Vodafoneis taking the entry level market in emerging markets (Asia and Africa) seriously with plans to unveil a coupe of new own-branded handsets that retail between $25 to $45. That’s dirt cheap if you ask me, but you probably won’t get MP3 playback or Bluetooth connectivity thrown in, let alone a digital camera for that matter.
