Sun Java phone in the works

Looks like Sun is also hoping to make a little dough on the side with its Sun Java phone. It won’t be powered by Symbian or Microsoft, using instead Sun’s very own Java Mobile FX software. Both phone and software were recently showcased at the JavaOne conference in San Francisco, and the handset itself looks very much like – dare I say it, the iPhone. Since the code is already in a ready state, there are not many reasons why we should not see the Sun Java phone hit the market later this year. Just make sure it isn’t an overpriced device that does what it is supposed to do well with a reasonable battery life.
