Bamboo phone with nanotech coating

Bamboo seems to be the next “in” thing when it comes to constructing gadgets as evident by this new patent that shows how an environmentally friendly cellphone could be constructed complete wtih nanotech coating. This coating offers sterilizing, deodorizing, antifouling and self-cleaning qualities to the phone, while the handset itself comes with Internet browsing, MP3 playback, a digital camera (up to 8 megapixels in resolution), infrared, Bluetooth, and 3G connectivity. Sounds pretty neat, but with all the titanium dioxide, silver, or zinc dioxide coating on the bamboo itself, isn’t that self defeating by introducing more metal? Hopefully the pandas at the zoo won’t chew on this cellphone…
