Samsung Virtual Screen offers greater efficiency

Cellphones have always been notorious when it comes to text input. QWERTY keyboards, predictive text input, and on-screen character display has lightened the burden somewhat, but they are still ineffective solutions when it comes to efficient text input. Samsung’s Virtual Display aims to put an end to all that, projecting a virtual notebook screen that comes with its own text and drawing input areas, menu/toolbar control zones with scrolling capability. The electronic pen communicates via infrared or ultrasonic signals that are monitored by the phone’s input sensor. What the user writes/draws is in real time, and Character Recognition software is included for greater effectiveness. This Virtual Screen will enable cellphones to make that leap to be on par with Tablet PCs and UMPCs.
