Toshiba TG02 And TG03 Details Leaked

We’ve all seen the pictures and news of Toshiba’s TG01, and that’s certainly a fine handset. We’ve certainly taken some encouragement from the TG01, and thus the leaks of the TG02 and TG03 certainly excite us. According to the leaked information, the TG02 will be water-resistant and will sport a 4.1-inch WVGA touchscreen display, 3.2-megapixel camera and 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The TG03 will sport similar specifications, except that it will have a 5.1-channel speaker and have a 5-megapixel camera instead. You can expect to see the TG02 and TG03 to be released sometime in Q4 this year.

Toshiba New Handsets Roadmap

There isn’t any official confirmation on the authenticity of some recently-leaked documentations, but if it’s true, then Toshiba is really fond of Snapdragon and Windows Mobile, and the 2009-2010 roadmap shows 2 new TG-series mobile phones, 2 K-series MID’s and one huge L-Series Internet tablet. With these Snapdragon-powered mobile phones, it will certainly be interesting to see how the mobile phone market will shape up in 2010. You can expect these devices to start being released in Q4 of 2009, and maybe even extended will Q1 of 2010.

Toshiba TG01 Windows Mobile 6.5

Folks were always left wondering whether the Toshiba TG01 would get the Windows Mobile 6.5 treatment, especially since Toshiba never promised to offer the update, and have a rather notorious reputation for the support of their smartphones. A video that has appeared online looks set to allay those fears though, as it shows the TG01 running Windows Mobile 6.5. It’s no guarantee that Toshiba will actually provide such an update, but it’s still comforting to know that it is possible.

Toshiba TG01 Cloned Already

Toshiba’s TG01 isn’t taking over the world like Apple’s iPhone is, but it’s still interesting enough for it to have a cloned sibling from China, though the clone doesn’t have telephony functions. We’re talking about the JXD318, which is a portable media player (PMP). The JXD318 has a 3-inch screen, which is a lot smaller than the 4.1-inch monster offered by the TG01. Other features of the device include TV in/out and a 1.3 megapixel camera with video capture capability. There isn’t any pricing or release information at time of writing.

Mystery Toshiba Device At FCC

A weird FCC filing has been made by Toshiba recently, and folks are still trying to determine what Toshiba might be offering us in the near future. The device that appears at the FCC has an “E01” sticker at the bottom while the user manual indicates that there is a 96 x 39 OLED secondary display. If you were thinking that this is the TG01, the primary display in the filing is a whole 1.1-inch smaller than the TG01. Based on what we can see, the specifications seem to indicate that it’s a flip phone, which is extremely rare in the family of Windows Mobile devices. What is Toshiba really up to?

O2 Germany To Offer Toshiba TG01

O2 Germany has announced that it will be the exclusive carrier for the 1GHz Toshiba TG01. In case you missed the specifications earlier, the TG01 will have a 4.1-inch touch screen display, a Toshiba-developed 3D user interface, HSDPA, HSUPA, EDGE, GPS and A-GPS while being only 9.9mm thick. Users will even be able to accept incoming calls by shaking the phone. The Toshiba TG01 will be available this summer in white, though no pricing information has been released just yet.

DoCoMo And Toshiba For Offer iPhone Killer?

Apple’s iPhone has been nigh indomitable, but word is that DoCoMo is prepping a cell phone from Toshiba that will try and usurp the iPhone’s position at the top of everybody’s wish list. Knowing the phones that are available in Japan, this one sounds like a serious one. Maybe Windows Mobile 6.5 and a 1GHz processor? Only time will tell, and most importantly, we hope that it will be available outside of Japan.

Toshiba TG01 Has A Cool Interface

Bored of the usual HTC TouchFLO animation? Well, there’s still life in Windows Mobile, since every manufacturer seems to be coming up with their own way to interact with Windows Mobile devices. Toshiba’s TG01 is a slim (9.9mm) phone that boasts a cool 3D user interface by Toshiba. Features of the device include a 4.1-inch WVGA display, Qualcomm’s 1GHz processor, Windows Mobile 6.1 HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, microSD card expansion, and you’ll even be able to answer a phone call by shaking the phone (gimmicky, but still cool). The phone is slated to hit Europe sometime around Q3 of 2009, and should be priced in the same range as HTC’s Touch HD.
