T-Mobile G2 To Have 5mp Camera?
Posted on: Posted on May 8, 2009 8:46 PM

It looks like T-Mobile is certainly intent on being one of the carriers that provide Android-powered devices, and now word is out that the HTC Sapphire (G2) will sport a 5-megapixel camera, instead of the 3.2-megapixel offering that other carriers use. The device might be released this July at Walmart for $179 on a 2-year contract.
New T-Mobile G1 Render
Posted on: Posted on May 8, 2009 8:21 PM

This pictured render of the “G1 v2” phone certainly looks attractive, especially with its sideway-sliding QWERTY keyboard. If the rumors are correct, such a device might be hitting the retail stores for about $150. The device will obviously be powered by Google’s Android. Based on the picture, we’re certainly looking forward to seeing this device in stores.
T-Mobile Vairy Touch Phone
Posted on: Posted on May 7, 2009 3:02 PM

A glance at the T-Mobile Vairy Touch and you’ll be forgiven for thinking that it’s a HTC Touch. The good news is that this phone will only set you back about $75. While the device might physically look like a HTC Touch, the user interface is totally different. In terms of hardware, the touchscreen is reportedly quite good, albeit it takes quite a bit of pressure to activate, which is often a common problem with cheaper resistive displays. Would you pick one of these over a HTC device?

G1 In Top 5 Smartphone List
Posted on: Posted on May 7, 2009 1:31 PM

T-Mobile’s Android-powered G1 has been around for a while now, and it’s certainly been given enough time to gather some momentum. Fortunately for it, the results speak for itself, and it doesn’t disappoint. In a recent market research, the G1 managed to break into the top 5 in terms of smartphone rankings, which are topped by RIM’s BlackBerry Curve and Apple’s iPhone 3G. Beating Windows Mobile and Palm’s devices is certainly a good achievement in its first foray into the smartphone market.

We’re all fairly familiar with HTC mobile phones, but what about a HTC netbook? Well, if the recent rumors are true, then the Taiwanese company is working on an Android-powered netbook, which will be available from T-Mobile. Aside from supposedly featuring an integrated 3G modem, the rumor also states that the HTC netbook might even be able to make its debut before the year is out. Will this turn out to be an accurate rumor? Stay tuned, and we’ll keep you posted.

TmoNews has managed to dig up information on some upcoming phones from T-Mobile. As listed in the leaked image, the T-Mobile Dash, Dash 3G and also the HTC Rhodium (HTC Touch Pro2) have been given a date. One more interesting thing to note is that T-Mobile will be offering visual voicemail, though there isn’t mention whether this feature will be available to Windows Mobile smartphones, so keep your fingers crossed.

T-Mobile Sidekick LX 2009 For $249
Posted on: Posted on May 5, 2009 6:25 PM

T-Mobile’s Sidekick LX still isn’t available if you didn’t pre-order it, but at least you have an updated pricing for the device now. The device will be going for $249 after a rebate and with a 2-year contract, whilst if you were loyal enough to pick it up during the pre-sale, you would have enjoyed the $199 price. Maybe sometimes it does pay to be an early adopter.
T-Mobile Bigfoot Coming This Fall?
Posted on: Posted on May 4, 2009 11:37 AM

A leaked document from T-Mobile shows that a sequel to the T-Mobile G1 will be arriving this fall, dubbed Bigfoot. We’re not entirely sure whether the picture on the document is accurate or not, but with a name like Bigfoot, it certainly isn’t too hard to imagine the device as one that is rather chunky and has a sideways sliding QWERTY keyboard.

HTC Magic Is HTC MyTouch 3G
Posted on: Posted on May 4, 2009 10:39 AM

It looks like T-Mobile subscribers will be getting the HTC Magic, albeit with a different name. A leaked picture depicting T-Mobile’s inventory system shows a MyTouch 3G, which was one of the options that a T-Mobile survey offered when seeking a name for the upcoming HTC Magic. The device looks set to be available in black, white and merlot. Do you prefer the name HTC Magic, MyTouch 3G, or are you totally indifferent to the name?

Sidekick LX Already Shipping
Posted on: Posted on April 30, 2009 5:33 PM

T-Mobile’s Sidekick LX 2009 is slated to be released on May 13th, but it seems that shipping companies might like to keep ahead of time, as many folks who pre-ordered the device are reporting that they’ve already received the device, not that anybody is complaining. At least they’re getting the device early, which is a lot more fun than getting the device late, right? If you didn’t pre-order your Sidekick LX, then you’ll have to be a little more patient and wait for it to officially hit the stores.

Fake T-Mobile G1 Looks Realistic
Posted on: Posted on April 27, 2009 9:49 AM

Fake devices will always be around, and we’ve certainly seen more iPhone clones that we can remember. Next up, we’ve found a rather interesting T-Mobile G1 clone, and it actually looks very much like the real deal (in the pictures), and could probably fool most people, till you find out that there isn’t a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It even runs a fake version of Android, not to mention looks very much like it. It does seem like a rather funny move though, as Android is obviously free to license. Of course, if you’re going to fake something, why not fake the OS too, right?

T-Mobile Embedded SIM
Posted on: Posted on April 23, 2009 6:52 PM

SIM cards may be small but they’re often not small enough to be embedded into certain devices. Fortunately T-Mobile has come up with a new embedded SIM system which will make it possible to build smaller connected devices like hospital monitors which can report back to the server. The use of silicon instead of plastic enables these SIMs to be about the size of a pinhead, making it a lot more space efficient. You can expect to see devices that use these SIMs in as little as 6 months, with the first being an energy meter from Echelon.
T-Mobile Sells 1 Million G1s
Posted on: Posted on April 23, 2009 6:18 PM

Deutsche Telekom’s Q1 results are out, and amidst all the figures, the one that might catch your eye is that over a million G1s have been sold in the US alone, which makes up the majority of the 1.5 million 3G devices that are currently active on T-Mobile’s network, certainly quite an accomplishment in just 6-months. The figure pales in comparison to the number of iPhones and BlackBerry devices sold, but let’s not pour cold water on the achievement. A pat on the back to T-Mobile USA?
T-Mobile Pay Once System
Posted on: Posted on April 23, 2009 10:45 AM

T-Mobile has unveiled a new “pay once” system to try and capture the attention of new BlackBerry users. With T-Mobile’s BlackBerry in a box offering, the pay one system has a one-time fee of £180 ($262) that gives users a new Pearl 8110, along with unlimited email and web for an entire year. Of course, nothing is ever that good, and when you’re on this plan, your minutes and texts are done via the traditional pay-as-you-go method. Still, it’s good to at least have an option for folks who want it such.

T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2 Pictured
Posted on: Posted on April 22, 2009 6:53 PM

If you were wondering whether the HTC Touch Pro2 would actually make it to T-Mobile USA, you’ll be glad to see that live pictured of the device, complete with T-Mobile branding have appeared online. If you’ll take a closer look at the pictures, you’ll also notice that the QWERTY keyboard doesn’t have European characters like €, so that should strengthen your belief that it’s T-Mobile USA that’s indicated on the phone. The device will most likely be released as the T-Mobile Wing II on July 22, and cross your fingers and hope that the device won’t be delayed.

T-Mobile Sidekick LX Announcement
Posted on: Posted on April 21, 2009 5:16 PM

We heard a few days ago that there was going to be a T-Mobile event held on April 21st, and quite naturally, we were hoping that it was Android or BlackBerry related. Unfortunately it’s neither, but the announcement of the Sidekick LX isn’t too bad either, though it’s certainly nothing to surprising, considering that almost everybody on the planet knew the phone was already coming. Those of you who have been looking for a replacement for your current Sidekick, mark down the date on your calendars.
