Sprint Employees Fired Over Palm Pre

Sprint Employees Fired Over Palm Pre

We love to get news and leaks about upcoming products, but we’re always saddened when news comes out that employees have been fired for leaking information. Of course, leaking information isn’t the proper thing to do, especially when you’ve signed an NDA (non-disclosure agreement), but being fired does put the severity of the situation into perspective. It seems that Sprint has taken these drastic measures to three of its employees after they were talking about the highly anticipated Palm Pre outside of their workplace. We certainly would welcome more news of the Palm Pre, but hopefully it’s in a more cheerful tone in the future.

Sprint To Get Palm Eos Too

We ran the news on the Palm Eos for AT a few days back, and now word is out that there might also be a CDMA version destined for Sprint’s network. According to the rumor, the device is currently being tested at Sprint, and should be available sometime in Q3 this year. Aside from its CDMA radio, it should be identical to the one that’s heading for AT&T.

Sprint HTC Snap

With the recent deluge of iPhone and Palm Pre news, it’s not too surprising that many of you have forgotten about some of the devices from HTC, one of them which is the HTC Snap. It seems that the device will be dubbed the HTC Snap S511, and Sprint is reportedly testing the device, indicating that it might be launched by mid-Summer. Of course, there is no confirmation of such a timeline, but keep your fingers crossed, and who knows, maybe we’ll see the phone released real soon.

Sprint Treo Pro ROM Issue

Sprint Treo Pro ROM Issue

If you can’t bear to wait for the Palm Pre and want to go for the Sprint Treo Pro instead, you’ll want to be extra careful. We say this because there are quite a few threads in forums reporting Sprint Treo Pros that are running on a pre-release 1.03 ROM, and since that isn’t a final version of the ROM, your warranty might be void on that device, as the serial number of the device will be flagged as a 0-day warranty period. Always go to Settings -> System -> About and tap the phone tab to find out what ROM the device is using.

Sprint $35 Restocking Fee

Sprint $35 Restocking Fee

Price increases are never fun, and the latest increase to the restocking fee of $35 by Sprint will probably not be welcomed too warmly. Previously, customers who trial the carrier via its 30 day policy were forced to pay a $25 restocking fee if they decide to exchange their activated device for a different model or color. Now Sprint has bumped up the charges by $10, bringing it to $35, as many customers reportedly return the devices without the necessary accessories, which certainly doesn’t seem to polite.

Palm Pre Launch Date Leaked Again?

The folks over at Engadget have managed to dig up a document that is supposedly from Sprint. If you take a peek at the details of the document, it can be noted that the carrier will be looking to get the Palm Pre ready by May 16th, which would lend credibility to the previously speculated launch date of either May 17th or June 30th. It certainly looks like the Palm Pre is just around the corner.

Sprint Employees Get Palm Pre Training

Sprint Employees Get Palm Pre Training

It looks like we’re inching closer to the actual release of the Sprint Palm Pre, as latest reports indicate that Sprint has implemented a vacation freeze during May for all front-end employees and has begun employee training with the Palm Pre in view of one of two launch windows. The first window will be when Sprint receives its retail units of the palm Pre around late April or early may in preparation for a preliminary launch on May 17th. The second window would involve Sprint receiving the units as mentioned earlier, but depending on the number of units received, the launch could be postponed to June 29th if the initial shipments are deemed to be too low to start sales in May. It looks like a lot of people are looking forward to the Palm Pre, which hopefully will be a breath of fresh air in the mobile industry.

Palm Pre To Require Everything Plan

Posted on: Posted on March 13, 2009 6:21 PM

Palm Pre To Require Everything Plan

Sprint and Palm have confirmed, via a webcast, that the upcoming Palm Pre will require the Everything plan for purchase and activation, similar to that of the Samsung Instinct. This means that users will have to choose between the 450 minute ($69.99), 900 minute ($89.99) or unlimited plans ($99.99) along with the Everything Family plans at 1500 minutes ($129.99), 3000 minutes ($169.99) or unlimited ($189.99). The reason given for such a move was that they didn’t want users buying voice-only plans, and then later get stocked by the potential data usage charges.

Sprint Treo Pro Spotted

Sprint Treo Pro Spotted

It’s an open secret that Sprint’s edition of Palm’s Treo Pro has been delayed many times over. We’ve seen it inch closer and closer to a release, and now it’s taken another tiny step further towards its release. Why do we say so? Well, the fact that live pictures of the Sprint Treo Pro have surfaced online. There aren’t any additional details, but Sprint certainly better get this phone out before interest in it is (inevitably) replaced by interest for the Palm Pre.

Sprint LG Rumor 2 Rumored

Sprint LG Rumor 2 Rumored

Rumors of the LG Rumor 2 have been circulating for quite a while now, and it looks like a leaked picture of said device has finally found its way online. Based on the pictures that are available, it looks like the Rumor 2 will have a full sliding QWERTY keyboard, but generally it looks quite similar to the original Rumor. Word on the street is that Sprint could be releasing this device come spring, probably at an affordable price since it’s an entry-level phone.
