Sony Ericsson Releases T715 Slider

Sony Ericsson today announced the T715 slider phone, available in the third quarter. According to Marketing Business Manager Quentin Cordier, this mid-range handset is for busy lifestyle users looking for a phone with practical up-to-date features. This compact credit card-sized phone has neither CyberShot nor Walkman, but it is 3G-capable with preinstalled Google Maps and Accuweather, 2.2-inch display, 3.2 MP camera with Photo light, FM radio, media player and 90MB storage with MicroSD expansion. Not the Memory Stick. The premium brushed aluminium shell and glossy front makes a complementary packaging. Price is still undisclosed, but mid-range is the keyword here.

Sony Ericsson To Launch Aino

After announcing the Satio for October this year, Sony Ericsson will also ship the Aino at around the same time. Main highlights? It comes with Remote Play, which allows remote control and media access to your PlayStation 3. It can also access PlayTV on your PS3, which allows folks in Italy, France, Spain, Germany and the UK to enjoy a huge range of free TV channels on the handset. And it debuts the Media Home application, which syncs media content with your PC via Media Go. And still others in the long list of highlights are an 8.1MP camera, A2DP stereo Bluetooth, motion gaming, PictBridge and microSD support. Xperia X1 Was An Experiment?

Xperia X1 Was An Experiment?

We’ve all seen and toyed with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, but not many people actually buy the phone, with one of the main reasons being its insane price. There is some rumblings that the device was a sort of “experiment” by Sony Ericsson, but it certainly isn’t bringing Sony Ericsson too much joy at the moment, is it? The good news is that Sony Ericsson is still planning to oust 3 smartphones by the end of the year. One Windows Mobile, one Android and one Symbian. How’s that for being fair?

Sony Logical Buyer Of Sony Ericsson Shares

In the current economic climate, it isn’t too surprising to see that Sony Ericsson is struggling a little. Ericsson CEO, Carl-Henric Svanberg, might be giving out some negative vibes though, especially since he has been quoted as saying that Sony would be a logical buyer of Ericsson’s stake in the joint venture, though he also pointed out that there are currently no sale discussions taking place. Still, the fact that people are considering such scenarios does make some people worry about the future of Sony Ericsson.

Ericsson Ready To Offer Cash Injection

Ericsson Ready To Offer Cash Injection

We know that Sony Ericsson isn’t enjoying the current economic turmoil too much, and with a rather dismal quarter, Ericsson seems like it’s trying to steady the boat, with its CEO, Carl-Henric Svanberg, mentioning that the parent company is willing to pour cash into the joint venture if necessary. Of course, Sony Ericsson can’t always be hoping to get easy cash from Ericsson, so it would also be best if Sony Ericsson could ride out the storm on its own.

Sony Ericsson W995 Visits The FCC

Sony Ericsson’s W995 has decided to take a trip to the FCC for approval, which is certainly good news for those who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of this phone. Specifications wise, it’s certainly a good phone, since it sports a 8.1-megapixel camera, 8GB of internal memory, 2.6-inch QVGA scratch-resistant screen, aGPS, Wi-Fi, stereo speakers and Walkman player 4.0. The bad news however, is that there isn’t any mention of the 850/1800/1900 MHz WCDMA bands that we’re looking for, so this might actually be a European variant of the device. Hopefully we’ll be seeing the North American variant, the W995a, sometime soon.

Dubbed the CS8, the device will sport an 8.1-megapixel camera and also support T-Mobile’s 3G bands. You can expect this megapixel monster to be available around June 24th. You might want to start saving some of those pennies in the meantime.

Sony Ericsson Android Phone Takes Time

Sony Ericsson’s chief executive has said that the company will take some time to develop a phone using Google’s Android. He does accept that it will require lots of evaluation, testing and acceptance from the consumer. Will Sony Ericsson come out with a cool android phone? Or will they settle for something less flashy?

Sony Ericsson Bleak Q1 Financial Results

Sony Ericsson Bleak Q1 Financial Results

Things aren’t looking too rosy for Sony Ericsson at the moment. The company has just released its Q1 financial results, which show a net loss of EUR 293m ($387m). To further add oil to the fire, it also stated that it would eliminate 2,000 jobs in an effort to cut costs. The company has already had 2 rounds of headcount reduction, reducing employee headcount by more than 2,000. This is probably a direct result of Sony Ericsson’s sales falling 36% to EUR 1.7b ($2.2b) in Q1, compared to the EUR 2.7b ($3.5b) for the same period last year.

Sony Ericsson C905 Plus

Sony Ericsson C905 Plus

Sony Ericsson has updated its C905 cell phone ever so slightly. It might not be important to many people, but Sony Ericsson has thrown in Smile Shutter into the phone, which should help you get good pictures, even if someone else isn’t into it. The new C905 phone, available in Tender Rose color, will offer an 8GB memory card together with the phone. There isn’t any mention of how much the C905 will cost, but it is fully YouTube compatible, so make sure you have an unlimited data plan before you go check it out.

Silver Sony Ericsson Idou

We had some pictures of the Sony Ericsson Idou in silver color a few weeks back, and now live pictures of the device in all its silver glory have surfaced. Would you rather pick the black or silver color Idou? Honestly speaking, we wouldn’t mind if the device came in pink, as long as they get it out soon, as waiting is never a fun thing.
