Games For Your PalmOS Emulator

PalmOS certainly isn’t well known for its games, but that certainly doesn’t mean that it isn’t fun playing games on PalmOS. Handcase from Brazil has noted that, and has developed its games for the PC platform, which are actually ROM files that will run on the Palm emulator in your computer. The ROMs will set you back a few backs, but the good news is that the PalmOS emulator is going for free.

Classic Palm OS Emulator For Palm Pre

Posted on: Posted on April 20, 2009 9:51 AM

We’ve mentioned the fact that the webOS on the Palm Pre will be able to run the Classic Palm OS emulator, which can even handle games and videos. Until now, most people have been rather skeptical of how well it would perform, but when you test games like GTS World Racer on it, and it seems real pretty, you might actually want to pick up the Palm Pre when it’s officially released.

Palm Pre To Get PalmOS Emulator

Palm Pre To Get PalmOS Emulator

This has been one of the biggest questions of PalmOS loyalists who are considering the Palm Pre: “Will we be able to run our existing PalmOS programs on it?” It’s a fair question, considering the thousands of PalmOS software out there, many of them indispensable to the faithful. The good news is that (according to rumors) the Pre will be getting PalmOS emulation, which should be just enough to do the trick. Whether or not it will be good enough to keep all your old programs chugging along is another issue, but if it works, that it will certainly be a bonus. Better to have the option than not to have the option, right?

Goodbye Palm OS

Goodbye Palm OS

The writing has been on the wall for quite some time, but it’s finally official. We’ll have to say goodbye to Palm OS as Palm’s CEO Ed Colligan has announced that they’ll be dropping the operating system in favor of its latest WebOS. There will not be any new Palm devices that will be powered by Palm OS anymore, just Web OS and Windows Mobile. It’s a sad end to this once mighty OS, but we bid it a fond farewell, and hopefully WebOS will rise to be as big and great as Palm OS once was.
