Lenovo OPhone In China

Apple’s iPhone might be dominating statistics and sales worldwide, but it looks like Android is set to beat Apple’s iPhone in one market, and that’s the China market. Rumor indicates that the Android-powered Lenovo OPhone will be launching this May on China Mobile. It seems that Apple had a little trouble coming to a deal with China Mobile regarding its iPhone, especially since the carrier wanted to sell the iPhone apps on their own market, which Apple unsurprisingly refused. With the open source nature of Google’s Android, China Mobile is free to tinker with the OS as it sees fit, which should be enough to satisfy the telco giant.

Levono oPhone Pictured Again

We’re previously seen screenshots of the Lenovo oPhone, but now live pictures of the device (together with its user interface) have appeared online, and it’s no surprise to see that the actual user interface does look a lot like Apple’s iPhone. In case you’ve forgotten, the oPhone runs with OMS (Open Mobile System), which is a fork of Android. The oPhone will have a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, Wi-Fi, microSD card expansion and support TD-SCDMA (China’s 3G).

Lenovo oPhone

Wonder how Lenovo’s oPhone UI (user interface) looks? Well, if you take a peek at the screenshots, you can tell that they’ve gone down the path that most people have done, in order to garner instant success. We’re talking about the UI of the device, and at a glance, it certainly looks very much like an iPhone.

Lenovo X1 For China

Lenovo X1 For China

Would you be excited to have Lenovo release its brand new phone in your country? Well, unless you’re living in China, you’re probably out of luck. The X1 is a tri-band EDGE slider phone, though you certainly have to admit that the button design seems a little nostalgic. The user interface has been dubbed the “Touch Dream”, which certainly seems like a cousin to phones by HTC. Would you pick up such a phone if you were going phone shopping, or something more down-to-earth?

Lenovo i60 And i60s

Lenovo has a couple of phones up its sleeve, and they’re the i60 and i60s. If you were wondering what the difference between the 2 devices are, the i60 has a 3-inch display that is a tad larger than the i60s, which also results in the i60s having more buttons. The i60 also has a larger 1250mAh battery. These phones should be available in China sometime soon, and will feature the following features:

  • Dual-band (900/1800 MHz) GSM radio
  • Integrated media player
  • Built-in FM radio
  • microSDHC memory card slot
  • WQVGA resolution at 240 x 400 pixels
